
On my recent trip to the island I had a chance to explore some of the local craft shops and stalls in the area. I couldn’t help but notice these beautiful woven pieces shown in the picture below. As I spoke to the smiling vendor he mentioned that the woven reed is actually called Palenque. He was also very excited to show me how the piece can easily be flexed and manipulated to form just about anything. We’re excited to incorporate these beautiful woven pieces into our vacation homes and incorporate even more local Panamanian crafts.
