  • Island Problems: Worst of 2014

Island living can be very difficult. If you follow our Isla Palenque facebook page, you’ve probably noticed that we often post about the kinds of problems you’ll encounter when living on an island. Here are nine of the best (or actually, I suppose, the worst) problems from 2014:

The ocean breeze keeps blowing away my cocktail napkin every time I lift my drink.

My ipod ran out of juice, so now I have to listen to the gentle sound of the ocean surf.

It rained last night and my hammock got wet, so now I have to relax on a sofa.

I wanted to go boogie boarding today, but the waves were too small.

My 5 o’clock Pina Colada gave me a 5:01 ice cream headache. It lasted until almost 5:02

I wanted to get some work done on the beach today, but it was too bright so now I have to work from the beach bar.

I used up all my limes making mojitos, so now I have to grill my fish instead of making ceviche.

I went hiking and saw a huge troop of howler monkeys but couldn’t get any good pictures because they were all backlit.

And the worst island problem of all in 2014 was…

Tonight’s sunset wasn’t as good as last night’s:
