About The Ambler
The Ambler is an endeavor by the Amble Resorts travel community to bring the best elements of travel blogs, travel forums, travel books, and travel magazines together to celebrate and share the incredible places we have traveled the world to find.
This is a travel blog for the aficionado of finer things with the spirit of a backpacker. We believe that you should be able to travel off the beaten path and relish in sophisticated luxury with peace of mind that the place that you have journeyed to is being protected and sustained. Some like to travel and some like to vacation, but we know that the marriage of these two ideas is not a paradox, it’s a possibility, and we’ve deemed it amble. Of course, to satisfy this discerning traveler, we had to create this unprecedented travel experience ourselves: Amble Resorts.
So is this a corporate blog? Yes. We like to be upfront, so we will honestly tell you that when we set out to research and connect with like-minded travelers on the places we had been, the internet search didn’t last very long. We crave insider information: what to do, and what to eat, and how to approach the people we encounter with respect. Travel guidebooks too often leave out the personal details and unique experiences, travel blogs often trail off mid-adventure, and magazines only provide stunning glimpses.
After three years of research, travel, blogging, and less than satisfying search results, we are bridging the gap ourselves. Like the best travel blogs, we document our unique travel experiences, and we’re here to talk to you about them. Like our trusty travel books, we catalog our favorite excursions, the best tours, local restaurants, and sites you cannot miss. And, like your favorite travel magazine, we seek out the best destination stories, writers, and stunning photography to inspire your inner wanderlust.

President Ben spots Zophora for the first time
From the entry-level backpacker to the guy in the Presidential suite, we are a community of people passionate about the places we’ve been and our mission to preserve their unique sense of place through the sustainable development of luxury eco resorts. To do this, we’ve set off on itinerary-less journeys, slept in hammocks in the wild jungle, and found out what fruit grows on a tree by tasting it. We spend days mapping old growth trees or bartering with locals to show us where the absolute best scuba diving sites are. But the real fun is not stumbling upon a mountainside waterfall or watching the sunset from the shores of a desert island, it’s that we are carving a path so that you may follow us to the best places to visit in the world.
We’re on a mission to provide life-changing travel experiences. Amble with us.
